This course presents the nine project management processes. These are designed to help manage the different elements of a project;

scope, budget, schedule, quality, team, stakeholder, information, risk and contract management.

One of the most critical roles of the project manager is the integration of these processes to ensure they all are properly coordinated. Students will learn that the complexity of development projects that require a different approach and a new way at managing the limited resources and the increasing demands from all stakeholders.

This course introduces the concept of managing a project using a cyclical approach. Development project management consists of six phases;

initiating, planning, implementing, monitoring, adapting and closing.

It is an integrated approach that provides for a continuous learning process; they help keep the project on track to deliver its outcomes on time, on budget and under the expectations of the donor and project beneficiaries. The students will learn how the project cycle is an opportunity that gives rise to adjustments in the project and contribute to learning.

This course focuses on advanced practices and methodologies in project management, from the project maturity model, to program and project portfolio management. This book will give readers helpful information that can be incorporated in their project management practices.
